ちなみに、いったんソースもってきて2960に戻してみましたが、それでもだめで
した、、ふーむ、、

Option "NvAgp" "0"

にしても変化なし。

Load "glx"

をコメントアウトしても変化なし。

XFree86.0.logの方では、ビデオモードを1280x1024にセットしようとする
メッセージで止まっているようです。
