alsa-0.9.0rc5, uml-2.4.18-53 にあげた kernel-2.4.18-128m を commit しま
した。alsa のバージョンアップの注意点として、

         Note: We have changed the kernel module symbol names (module
         parameter names). We removed prefix 'snd_'. Please, update your
         /etc/modules.conf files by hand or use our
         alsa-driver/utils/module-options script which does this job.
         Please, notice that 'snd_' prefix is not equal to 'snd-' prefix
         (module name) which is left unchanged.
         ------------------------------------------------------------------
         Note#2: Please, notice that we merged snd-via686 and snd-via8233
         into the snd-via82xx module. Also, the snd-usb-midi module users
         should use the snd-usb-audio module which has integrated support
         for both USB audio and MIDI.

とありますのでご注意ください。要するに、/etc/modules.conf を

・ 'snd_' を取る ('snd-' じゃありません)
・ snd-via686 または snd-via8233 立った人は snd-via82xx にする
・ snd-usb-midi にしていた人は snd-usb-audio にする

と言う風に修正してください。

この kernel では、私のように via686 オンボードサウンドで
aplay /usr/share/sndconfig/sample.au
としても 0.9.0rc3 では「ガー ハロッ ガー ハロッ ガー ハロッ ガー ハロッ」
となっていた人も、ちゃんと再生されます。:)

そのうち 2.4.19 カーネルも投入されると思いますが、それまでのつなぎとして
は、まんざらでもないと思います。
